Control of single axes - drive based
The SINAMICS drive system offers an integrated basic positioning functionality called EPOS. This function allows for absolute and relative positioning of single linear and rotary axes with motor or machine encoder. The EPOS function is engineered using TIA Portal/Startdrive, enabling easy integration into the existing system. By utilizing the EPOS function, additional axes can be driven by the same PLC without consuming additional calculation resources. This reduces the load on the controller, potentially allowing for the selection of a smaller and more cost-effective PLC.
